Jennica's Wedding
One of my longtime best friends got married last month. Jennica and Kris tied the knot at Harding University in Searcy. It was beautiful! Thankfully, I got the chance to go down the night before with Lauren, Jessica, and Allison to hang out with Jenn and some of her Harding friends before the big day. We had a lot of fun hanging out, eating (of course!) and watching a bunch of goofy youtube videos.
The next morning, our pal Brent came into town a bit early, so we (Lauren, Jessica, and myself) kidnapped him for some shopping and lunch before the wedding.
After the wedding, Steven and I went out to eat with Mom & Dad before heading home.

Opening her gifts...
That's right. That is Courtney, wearing a pink, sparkly t-shirt. :-) You just thought we wouldn't notice.

Jill
"I'm not sure where to even begin in writing this post. All of the thoughts, prayers and support for Jill, my family and myself have meant so much to all of us.
Jill got caught a slight bit of pneumonia last night, it became harder and harder for her to breathe, despite breathing treatments. The doctors wanted to incubate her but didn't feel that it would improve her overall condition. I made the decision to let her fight through it, however it was just too much for her to take. She passed away around 6:30 this morning, she was not in any pain and went peacefully. I just wanted you all to know.
Please pray for our families and myself that we are able to get through this very difficult time."
Mooo!

Praying for Jill and JT
The original version of this can be found at Lauren Makes.
Over the past year and a half, I’ve gotten to know a great group of girls. We all got married in December and had lots of fun talking throughout wedding planning. Since our weddings, we’ve continued our conversations and now talk about buying houses, getting pets, having babies, etc. We have really all grown very close, even though most of us have never met.
We were all shocked to find out one of our own, Jill, was diagnosed with a rare form of cancer last October at the young age of 24. She has been so brave and positive throughout this. Always cheerful and looking on the bright side.
Although there has been some progress in the fight on her cancer over the past few months, they were told on Monday that her recent symptoms are indicating the “end of her life cycle.” At this point, the doctors don’t think there’s anything they can do for her.
Our hearts are breaking for Jill and her husband, J.T. right now. Please keep them and their families in your prayers.

Ten Things Tuesday

1. I was able to get all the books I needed within the first week of classes!
2. My last class of the day ended early today.
3. My 11:00 class is canceled for Thursday.
4. Steven was able to call me today.
5. A new Nicholas Sparks movie is coming out soon!!!! Nights in Rodanthe (which is one of my favorite N.S. books) will be in theaters on September 26!!! It is a Friday night, and I have already made plans to go see it with Lauren.
6. The Jonesboro Library has section on their site where you can recheck your books online. I love this feature! It is definitely a gas saver for me. You can also look online to see what books they have on the shelves.
7. Because of the construction going on at the library, I get to keep the two books I checked out last month until October! I love to read, but with classes starting back, sometimes it is hard to find time.
8. I get to sleep a little later in the morning. Well, as late as my dogs will let me. That is usually not more than 30 minutes.
9. My toe nails are painted! I finally got a chance to redo them this past weekend. Having painted toes always makes me feel a little prettier.
10. I have something fun in the works with my new friend, Kendy.....

H is for....
Heather!
Heather and I met in kindergarten when we were in the same class. We were supposed to have the same 1st grade teacher, but I had to move. Within a couple of years, we lost touch.
In junior high we ran into each other at a teen VBS night and freaked out when we saw each other. (Somehow I ended up sitting directly behind her. We both heard each other talking and turned to look at each other. It really was one of those 'only-in-the-movies' moments.) We were jumping up and down, hugging, and squealing. I'm pretty sure everyone around us thought we'd lost our minds. We started keeping in touch through e-mail, until about a year later when I started dating a guy she went to school with. We started hanging out at football and basketball games. Eventually I got rid of the guy and met Steven, and we finally started having our double dates we'd been swearing we'd do for a couple of years.
I love her for lots of reasons...
She's probably the most outgoing person I know. She's very smart, and very strong-willed. Do NOT tell her that politics and religion don't mix. She will quickly tell you her position on both of those topics. She loves my husband. She is always laughing and smiling. She makes me laugh. Heather loves kitties as much as I do. She remembers random memories from our childhood just like I do. She didn't say anything when I screwed up big time and tried to make the same mistake twice. She gave the most excited response I've ever heard of when I asked her to be my bridesmaid. (That really meant a lot to me girl!) She was there to stand beside me on my wedding day, even though it meant rearranging her finals schedule and driving all day from Alabama to arrive just in time to stay up all night helping me decorate. She also drug her boyfriend along so that he could help too. She never complained about my bridezilla moments at the rehearsal. In fact, I don't think she heard them. She just kept right on talking to the other bridesmaids and groomsmen. :-) When she asks for your opinion, she actually wants it. She loves Salsa's Grill just as much as I do. She always has to have her "soggy chip." She shares my love of "shiny things" and anything wedding related.

Today I'm thanking God for...
Last night was the monthly Bunco meeting, and when I got home I was wide awake and wound up from all the laughing we had done. We started late, ended late, and laughed the whole time. It was fabulously fun.
Here's a photo I came across a few days ago of myself, Holly, and Ashley on our way to the bowling alley for Ashley's bachelorette party. We sure had a lot of fun that night.

Easter Weekend
We had a great Easter weekend. It was very busy, but also very fun. Friday we spent the afternoon just hanging out together. Steven got home really late on Thursday, and I had to work Friday morning, so it was really our first chance to see each other. Friday night we had dinner with our friends, Justin & Courtney.
Saturday morning we were lazy and laid in bed watching Bee Movie (which is really cute!). Saturday afternoon was spent shopping (Yay!) and at the church Easter Egg Hunt. The kids were so cute! We each bought new clothes for Easter, and I got the beautiful ring I've had my eye on since before Christmas. That night we had dinner with some more friends, and we had planned on going to play Glo Putt-Putt, but it wasn't there anymore! :-( Instead we went to Blockbuster and bought a few movies and went home to get ready for Sunday morning.
After church on Sunday we headed to Trumann to visit with family over lunch.
We hope everyone had a great weekend!
More photos from the church egg hunt can be found on our church blog.
