5 weeks

Tomorrow, I will be 5 weeks pregnant! According to babycenter.com, that means our baby is the about the size of a sesame seed.

This is what else babycenter has to say:

"Deep in your uterus your embryo is growing at a furious pace. At this point, he's about the size of a sesame seed, and he looks more like a tiny tadpole than a human. He's now made up of three layers — the ectoderm, the mesoderm, and the endoderm — which will later form all of his organs and tissues.

The neural tube — from which your baby's brain, spinal cord, nerves, and backbone will sprout — is starting to develop in the top layer, called the ectoderm. This layer will also give rise to his skin, hair, nails, mammary and sweat glands, and tooth enamel.

His heart and circulatory system begin to form in the middle layer, or mesoderm. (This week, in fact, his tiny heart begins to divide into chambers and beat and pump blood.) The mesoderm will also form your baby's muscles, cartilage, bone, and subcutaneous (under skin) tissue.

The third layer, or endoderm, will house his lungs, intestines, and rudimentary urinary system, as well as his thyroid, liver, and pancreas. In the meantime, the primitive placenta and umbilical cord, which deliver nourishment and oxygen to your baby, are already on the job."

How far along? 5 weeks

Total weight gain/loss: didn't dare step on the scales

Maternity clothes? nope

Stretch marks? um yeah, but i had them long before I was pregnant

Sleep: Sleeping in is no longer an option. It just doesn't happen. However, I can do a 3.5 hour nap in the middle of the morning, no problem.

Best moment this week: Telling my sister the good news!

Movement: none

Food cravings: corn

Gender: I'm kinda leaning toward boy for some unknown reason.

Labor Signs: nope

Belly Button in or out? still in

What I miss: not constantly knowing the cleanliness level of my toilet and going more than one day without crying

What I am looking forward to: telling the in-laws this week!

Weekly Wisdom: I'm not in a wise mood. Sorry.

Milestones: I almost went a whole day without vomiting.

Other memorable moments:

Today Steven said he didn't care how much we spent on a crib because, "Nothing is going to be good enough for our little baby." Awww! He's so cute.

Tonight, he also asked me, "Why do they call it morning sickness?" He was confused because it is "all day sickness" to me.
